SsangYong’s Alexandra Whitley a budding motorsport star
SsangYong’s Alexandra Whitley has been noted as well on her way to making a mark in the motor racing industry.
Whitley (22) is a born and bred
Australian, but moved to New Zealand two years ago and now works for leading
motor vehicle company SsangYong.
Not only does the SsangYong
dealership team provide the talented youngster with sponsorship for her racing
aspirations, but employed her through the company providing her with extra
support and great learning opportunities.
Whitley grew up in a racing family
in Toowoomba with her father a keen speedway driver. Although she has the
tarmac tracks on her mind and aspires to be the first female to compete in the
V8 Supercars competition.
"Beyond that, I want to make a
successful career racing around the world.”
She was recently one of few
selected to attend the Elite Motorsport Academy in Otago where she learnt about
dealing with the media, fitness, nutrition, mental and physical training and
establishing sponsorship.
Whitley will be one to watch when she contends the popular 2016/17 SsangYong Racing Series which kicks off at the ITM Auckland SuperSprint (V8 Supercars round) at Pukekohe Park on 4th-6th November 2016.
