Plane makes unexpected landing at Pukekohe Park
A small plane may take off from Pukekohe Park on Monday after it was forced to make an emergency landing on Sunday evening.
Emergency services were called to Pukekohe Park just before 6pm, where two people had escaped unscathed following the incident.
"The plane made a precautionary landing at the racecourse due to fuel issues," a police spokeswoman said.
"Two people got out uninjured and the landing was fine. The aircraft will be checked by an engineer and likely flown off tomorrow."
The emergency landing has been referred to the Civil Aviation Authority.
The plane was lucky to land perfectly in the middle of the training tracks on a large grass area, avoiding the nearby running rails and hurdle fences.
